“Board of Governors’ Development Resource Session: Training, Dashboard, and Guide to Excellence Overview”

During this session, attendees will be introduced to new resources available to support their work as members of the Board of Governors, including their service on Arc New York Committees and Workgroups. This will include an overview of new training and tools developed for you by the Governance Strategic Plan Workgroup, such as Facilitator Training for Committee Chairs, Team Training for Committee member training, and support for the creation of charters for all Arc New York committees. During the second half of this session, attendees will receive an overview and walkthrough of the Arc New York Guide to Excellence, a brand new board member resource providing helpful background and best practices, and a detailed review of the dashboard designed for Governors to monitor overall Arc New York metrics.

“Keeping Your Employees (Engaged) in the Next Normal”

During the pandemic, we learned that leading in a crisis required different skills than leading under normal circumstances. When things began to stabilize enough for employers to begin planning their return to the office, leaders discovered that many of their employees would not be returning. This session will look at how the Pandemic has changed many employees’ priorities; what employees are seeking in this next “Normal” workplace; and the skills needed to more successfully lead in an environment that is more supportive and flexible and provides for greater employee engagement and involvement.
